| One could say that The Pothole Medic founder Loyed Woodland has spent a lifetime studying roadway construction and developing machinery to improve it.
That career began as a teenager and continued through and beyond his years as a pioneer in the sport of drag racing (he's a member of the New England Drag Racing Hall of Fame). In the 1970s, Loyed developed a full-depth asphalt reclamation process through a series of prototype machines. Those full-depths asphalt repair prototypes led to what's now the most popular method of full depth road reconstruction. | In the mid 1990s, Loyed focused his energies on another process: high velocity injection patching. Working with Wildcat Manufacturing Company, he helped create a patching process that precisely meters the combination of asphalt emulsion to aggregate. Convinced this machine provided a far superior patching method than the fill and pack approach used by most local highway and DPW departments, Loyed started The Pothole Medic in 2001.Based in Brockton, Massachusetts, The Pothole Medic will travel within a 75-mile radius to serve both public and private sector clients. That covers all of Massachusetts and parts of the five other New England states.
